Mitra takes us in the world of oriental dancing every Monday at 6pm
Oriental dancing is known as belly dancing. However, this description is not entirely accurate, because the belly actually only plays a minor role in this dance technique. The movements come mainly from the knees, the hips and the shoulders. The arms also play an important part in this dance. In Arabia the dance is known as ‘Raqs Sharqi’, which translates as ‘Dance of the East’. So this description brings us a little closer to our concept of oriental dance. It is believed that the origin of this dance is based on ancient fertility and conception rites.

Our programme is based on your requirements.

Various dance techniques are offered in this class, ranging from ballroom dancing, such as waltz, tango, the bolero, the foxtrot, the Chachacha, Rock and Roll and Samba, to Latin American style dancing, such as Bachata, Merengue and Salsa, and from Spanish-style Sevillanas to oriental belly dancing.
