INTERmedic has arrived! Now you can
forget about all the other hair removal methods.
PHOTONIUS™ is much faster, more comfortable,
Safer, and above all, extremely effective.
No more waxing, no more creams or needles!
PHOTONIUS™ removes unwanted hair rapidly,
for men and for women, anywhere on the body.
What is PHOTONIUS™ and how does the
pulsed light system work?
The pulsed light system incorporates all the
different wavelengths. The light generated
by the PHOTONIUS™ flash lamp is absorbed
by the melanin in the hair and transformed
into heat. This intense heat travels through
the hair down to the follicle, heating it
and destroying it. Thus, the hair-producing
cells themselves are damaged or destroyed
resulting in permanent hair removal.
Is the procedure safe, effective and comfortable?
The procedure is very safe because PHOTONIUS™
delivers energy to the skin extremely gently.
The PHOTONIUS™ system uses a highly effective
pulsed light exchange system, which selects the
appropriate wavelength for the type of treatment
being given and the skin phototype. This system
therefore ensures a highly effective photoepilation.
The advanced technology used in the PHOTONIUS™
system produces the best possible results, without
the need for gels or creams, thus making the whole
procedure more comfortable for the patient.
How long does it take and how many
sessions are needed?
Treatments are fast; two full legs or a a man´s back
area can be treated in less than one hour. Smaller
areas, such as the face or the back of the neck, can be
treated in a few minutes.
The number of sessions required depends on two
factors: firstly, on the colour of the skin (phototype)
and on the colour and thickness of the hair itself.
The PHOTONIUS™ system has been shown to
produce the best results on light coloured skin
and dark hair.
Secondly, the number of sessions required
depends on the growth phase of the hair
to be treated. The PHOTONIUS™ system
damages and ultimately destroys and
eliminates the hair in the Phase One Active
Growth Phase (the medical term for this
phase is Anagen), which means that several
sessions are required to effective reduce
and remove the unwanted hair.
Subsequent sessions are scheduled when
hair grown recommences. The timing of
these sessions can range from between
four to eight weeks, depending on the
hair type and the part of the body being
treated. On average, treatments are
scheduled four to six weeks apart.
Once the desired results are obtained,
annual maintenance session are required.
What precautions should be taken before
and after treatment?
The patient should not use electrolysis, waxing or other
hair removal procedures for four weeks before
beginning PHOTONIUS™ treatment.
It is advised to avoid exposure to sun or to UV lamps
during PHOTONIUS™ treatment, in order to
reduce melanin activity in the epidermis.
The skin should be kept very well
moisturised , as the treatment
responds best on hydrated skin.
After treatment, the patient should
always use sun block (at least SPF factor 15)
on the affected areas when exposed to the sun.
